Some things to know for the week: - Picture day is coming up next week on the 19th. Order forms went home last week. Please return these on Picture day. - Red folder will be sent home on Wednesday since we were out on Tuesday. I will send home graded papers tomorrow with the progress report so that the folder only comes home once this week. Walk to School Wednesday is tomorrow. Congratulations to Orange House for winning the month of August! Students in the orange house will celebrate with a glow stick party Friday, September 8th. We encourage all students in the orange house to wear orange that day. Spirit Night at: Uncle Maddios on September 7th Los Bravos on September 11th. Thank you for coming to Open House last night, it was great to see so many of you! Here is the PowerPoint from last night if you would like to review it again or if you were not able to make it last night. If you did not pick up the ParentVue information, please stop by the office with your license. This information will allow you to access your child's grades as they are entered. Have a great weekend!
I hope that everyone had a great weekend and enjoyed the beautiful weather.
Many clubs are beginning this week. Please send in a note if your child will be staying for a club. On this note, please also let me know how they will go home after the club. There is a new policy for picking up students after clubs: 1) You will be required to physically sign your student(s) out of those clubs each time you pick them up. A club sponsor will come to each car for adults to sign to pick up students. OR 2) You will be required to pick your child(ren) up from a carpool lane. No clubs will dismiss from inside the building. Please remain in your car, in the carpool lane assigned to your club Now that students have settled into the fourth grade routine, I wanted to go over some of the important tools that we use. As mentioned before, each day students should have their agenda signed by me. I will not sign if they have not filled out their agenda with the homework or the word, "none". This is the most important tool that you have for knowing what work is expected to be completed at home, as well as if your child has not completed and turned in homework. As a team, we require students to get a parent signature each night in the agenda. Please ask your child to see their agenda if they are not giving it to you. Tomorrow begins the weekly folder coming home. This red folder will come each Tuesday with graded work or important information from the office . On the front of the folder you will see a parent signature sheet. Please sign this after viewing your child's work, and return it by the end of the week. Please return the recorder permission slip and money to Mrs. Bosworth. I am still collecting the Performance Arts permission slip as well. *Hopefully you all saw the email that Open House was changed to Thursday, August 24th. I look forward to seeing you there! Crafty Hog Spirit Night tomorrow night! Take-out orders count too. We survived and had an excellent first week of school! Thank you for turning in all forms during this first week of school. Our class is kind and helpful and I look forward to teaching them this year. The students have settled in and we have enjoyed getting to know each other. I hope that your child has shown you their agenda with the sticker of teachers for each class and the schedule taped inside the agenda. I will also be posting our schedule on my blog. You will be able to print this directly if you like. We started switching classes on Thursday and the students did well. I know that they will be able to handle this transition and enjoy seeing friends and making new friends throughout the day in these classes.
I created this email list from the enrollment forms. Please let me know if I missed someone in your family that should be receiving these emails. I will be sending a note in agendas next week to verify receipt of this email. If you would like to respond directly to this email, you are welcome to do that as well. I will send out a weekly email, as well as posting the information on my blog. I am looking forward to helping your child grow this year. Have a great weekend! Best, Heather Hodge |
