Welcome back! I enjoyed my days off with Wyatt, but I am ready to begin teaching again and resuming a normal schedule. From Mrs. Powell- The science test was supposed to be Tuesday, however, due to us being out on snow-cation, I have decided to give the students the option of when they wanted to take the test. Some have studies hard over the break and wanted to do it right away. Some felt like they needed one more night of studying. So, you can ask your child whether or not they took the test today or are planning on taking it tomorrow. Annually, the Georgia Department of Education requests parent input regarding the climate at each Georgia School. They collect this input through Parent Surveys. You may complete this 24-item survey on a computer, smart phone, or tablet. Your participation in this survey helps King Springs. Thank you for taking time to answer the questions. http://apps.gadoe.org/schoolclimate/parents.nsf/Survey.xsp We have been reviewing the scientific process with students this week to prepare them for the science fair project. I completed a mini experiment to get students thinking about ideas, we also visited the media center to look at examples from last year. If students complete a science fair project they will receive extra credit through one classwork grade of 100 percent added to their average. The extra-credit science fair project is due Tuesday, Jan. 24. STEM Night is Thursday, Jan. 26, and the complete Science Fair projects will be on display that night in the Media Center. Please see the attached information about a Relay for Life fundraiser next week! ![]()
